About
The Invercargill branch of Southern Sexual Abuse and Assessment Service cares for victims of sexual assault from anywhere in Southland.
Our office is now based at Te Kōwhai Ora (previously known as Southland Help), 225 Tweed Street Invercargill, where we have a dedicated medical forensic room – the Kōtuku room. Our Lead Clinician is Dr Christina Bocock.
We accept referrals 24/7 from Police and healthcare professionals via an on-call cellphone, and can see people urgently when required for forensic examinations.
We accept self-referrals (or referrals from anyone you trust, on your behalf) via Te Kōwhai Ora or direct email, and would be happy to book you in to our Sexual Harm Assessment Clinic to see a doctor within the next few weeks.
You may contact us via email at ivc@ssaats.org.nz for information or to request a non-urgent appointment with the doctor, though be aware this inbox is not monitored frequently.
Another option is to phone the Sexual Harm Assessment Clinic on 0800 114 411. This is unlikely to be answered in Invercargill, but a Dunedin based person from our team will be able to talk to you and get in touch with us.
