Kaiwhakahaere Matua | General Manager
Hayley Samuel
Hayley has worked for MEDSAC since 2004 in various managerial roles, including providing remote support whilst living in Mexico. She was part of the SAATS working group involved in the design and implementation of SAATS throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. Previously, Hayley was a registered medical laboratory scientist having specialised in immunology and virology. Whakatū / Nelson is Hayley’s base, where she is surrounded by a cacophony of colour from her collection of indigenous textiles from Mexico and Guatemala.

Kaiwhakahaere | Manager, Mentoring and Accreditation
Lisa Currie
Based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, Lisa has been part of MEDSAC since 2017. She is driven by her commitment to ensuring all clinicians feel supported and valued in their work in sexual assault and NFSS care. She loves supporting new forensic examiner trainees and forensic nurses, and continuing the development of the MEDSAC accreditation programme. Before joining MEDSAC Lisa’s career was in relationship management across banking and events.

Kaiwhakahaere | Manager, Education Content Development
Victoria Larbalestier
Victoria joined MEDSAC in March 2012 after many years working at Puawaitahi, the child protection multi-agency centre in Auckland. Victoria has a particular interest in online learning and educational technology. She completed a Certificate in Educational Technology in 2021 and continues professional development in instructional design. Based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, Victoria loves gardening and hand crafts of all kinds, especially sewing and knitting.

Kaiwhakahaere | Manager, Finance and Business Partnering, and Business Improvement
Theresa Tong
Theresa joined MEDSAC in May 2025 and is a Chartered Accountant with experience in the public sector. Based in Te Awa Kairangi ki Uta / Upper Hutt, she is currently providing maternity cover for the Finance and Business Improvement role. Theresa has a particular interest in values-driven organisations and enjoys working alongside people who are passionate about making a positive difference in their communities. She enjoys helping teams build financial confidence and ensures systems are in place to support both compliance and long-term strategic goals. Outside of work, Theresa enjoys spending time with her young family and dog, as well as knitting a good pair of socks when time allows.

Kaiwhakahaere | Manager, Community, Training and Events
Hayley Whalen
Hayley joined MEDSAC in May 2024, after working in the live events sector for a number of years delivering large scale festivals, not-for-profit and community events. She is looking forward to contributing to MEDSAC in a meaningful way by working with members to ensure they have everything they need to help improve the wellbeing of people they are interacting with. Hayley has energy and enthusiasm for making a positive difference. She lives in Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai / Lower Hutt with her husband, two young children, and a dog called Bamse.

Kaiwhakahaere, Mahinga Haumanu me te Rangahau | Manager, Clinical Operations and Research
Rachel Mackintosh
In her role at MEDSAC, Rachel is responsible for the manual, research and clinical surveys, formal statement review (MERG), clinical advice forum, and providing support to lead clinicians. Rachel came to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2019 from Aberdeen, Scotland. She has experience in a diverse range of roles including programme coordination, administration, anti-money laundering, and property management. Rachel is based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara / Wellington.

Kaiwhakawhanake Ihirangi Mātauranga | Education Content Developer
Jo Sutton
Jo joined MEDSAC in 2023 to help with the creation of online learning and development of graphics/resources. She loves working with subject matter experts and converting their wealth of expertise into a learnable format. Jo has worked in various IT roles in NZ, Australia and the UK, as well as owning/operating motel businesses. She lives in sunny Whakatū / Nelson where she and her husband raise their magical twin teenage daughters.

Kairuruku Whakahaere | Executive Coordinator
Danielle Kinzett
Danielle joined the MEDSAC team in 2024 as Executive Coordinator. She brings a wealth of experience in personal assistant roles within the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Danielle approaches life with a positive mindset and solutions-based thinking. In her spare time, she enjoys the numerous benefits of adventuring outdoors in the Te Tai o Aorere / Tasman region with her family.

Kayleigh Kozinsky
Kayleigh joined the MEDSAC team in March 2025, as a Communications Advisor. She brings a background in digital communications in the health sector, with a deep understanding of te ao Māori engagement and a strong passion for community connection. Kayleigh is dedicated to ensuring our messaging is clear, impactful, and inclusive. Based in Whakatū / Nelson, Kayleigh spends her spare time dancing and exploring the outdoors with friends.

Kaiāwhina Kaikaute me te Tautoko Pakihi | Assistant Accountant and Business Support Administrator
Cara Orr
Cara joined the MEDSAC team in 2025 as an Assistant Accountant and Business Support Administrator. With a background in finance across multiple sectors, she brings a sharp eye for detail and a love of making systems work smarter. Currently studying to become a Chartered Accountant, Cara is passionate about growing her expertise while contributing to an organisation that makes a real difference.
Outside of work she enjoys spending quality time with her son and making the most of the outdoors in sunny Nelson.
